Occupy World

Occupy Vancouver
Consensus Decision Making

Following Wall Street Occupation, pointing the most crucial and eminent issue of the world actual problem, we witness world reacting. Julian Assange, the hero of wickiLeaks, Al Gore, chairman of The Climate Reality Project, a non-profit focused on solutions to the climate crisis, Michael More, famous documatarist, and many other celebrities have joined to the protesters and made wonderful speech to support the Wall Street Occupation and World Occupation.
In Vancouver Canada, there have been 5000 participants at Art Gallery on Sunday Sep. 15, the first day of World Occupation. On this beautiful sunny day, the World Occupation Day, Georgia Street was closed and the sound of fiesta music was heard from the core of Vancouver city.
They have set their tents; they have organized organic vegetarian free food, first aid, education stand, etc. Some people are sitting to meditate, and every one has his voice on electronic microphone.
There are families with children, wheelchair people, and people coming from other cities. Free food is coming from every where and each day the protesters are more informed and more organized.
The movement is new. They are learning how to process listening, talking, overcome their anger, and have a real majority consensus, not just %51, for each and every decision they take.
A 15 year old boy gives an incredible speech saying everyone has to have a voice: “the ones who don't agree should come and talk, the ones who want to bloc a discussion should talk and after everyone has talked we could have a consensus.”
They explain in their flyer: “Consensus is a decision making process that attempts to be inclusive and accommodating of the desires and needs of an entire group, instead of simply voting for an item and having the majority of the group getting their way. A group using consensus is committed to finding solutions that everyone actively supports, or at least can live with.”
They have emphasized that (This is the current working model that can be modified)

Just try to be their one hour. You will love it and you will be a part of %99 as they call themselves.
Here are the pages created exclusively for this matter, after the Wall Street Occupation movement.
